Wentworth Point Gateway Project
Dear Wentworth Point Community,
We are excited to announce a new council initiative aimed at enhancing the arrival experience and identity of our vibrant community. Council is preparing to install a key landmark gateway at the corner of Hill Road and Bennelong Parkway, a significant step outlined in the adopted Hill Road Master Plan.
A Symbol of Welcome
The design of the gateway is both thoughtful and inclusive, featuring the suburb name alongside the word “Welcome” in multiple languages: English, Dharug, Korean, and Chinese. This choice reflects the rich diversity of our community, with English, Korean, and Chinese being the most spoken languages in Wentworth Point, while Dharug honors the Traditional Owners of this land.
The gateway will stand approximately 13 meters long and 1.7 meters tall, constructed from a blend of aluminium or timber batten set against a concrete blade wall. The stainless-steel letters representing our suburb’s name will be prominently displayed, ensuring that all who enter are greeted with a warm welcome.
Location and Impact
The gateway sign will be strategically located on the grassy area at the corner of Hill Road and Bennelong Parkway, ensuring visibility and accessibility for both residents and visitors. Importantly, the project has been designed with community in mind; there are no identified impacts on nearby residences or existing community infrastructure.
