Making a Difference for the Wentworth Point Community
The Wentworth Point Community Group is a dedicated team of volunteers committed to representing the diverse voices, interests, and aspirations of our vibrant waterfront suburb. Established in mid-2024 through an initiative by the City of Parramatta Council, our group brings together passionate local residents who share a common goal: making Wentworth Point an even better place to live, work, and play.
Our Origins
In mid-2024, the City of Parramatta sought expressions of interest from community members to form a representative group for Wentworth Point. The council recognized the unique needs of our rapidly growing community and the importance of having a dedicated forum where local voices could be heard and local issues addressed.
From this call to action, our community group was born – comprising up to 15 dedicated volunteers from diverse backgrounds, including various language groups, ages, faiths, sexual orientations, and lifestyles. This diversity ensures we truly represent the rich tapestry that makes Wentworth Point special.
What We Do
As a community-led group, we:
- Represent the interests, concerns, and aspirations of Wentworth Point residents
- Meet regularly to discuss community needs and priorities
- Provide a direct communication channel between residents and the City of Parramatta
- Identify and advocate for actions that improve outcomes for our neighborhood
- Collaborate on initiatives that enhance community wellbeing and connection
- Ensure diverse perspectives are considered in local decision-making
Our Commitment
Each member of the Wentworth Point Community Group has made a commitment to serve our community with integrity, dedication, and enthusiasm. We operate according to a Terms of Reference document that was developed collaboratively with input from all members, establishing clear guidelines for our responsibilities and activities.
